Trophées Gérard Jumeaux
5 - 6 Juin 2010
Over the weekend of June the 17th 2007 on the track of "La Croix en Ternois", the success of the organisation was once again proved and the result speaked for itself.
Although the President of the association: Anne Marie Jumeaux keeps the the sidecar categorie very close to her heart, after having been Gerard's racing passenger for many years, the Trophees Jumeaux always gives an equally fantastic place devoted to riders with a passion about motorbike racing history.
It is finally on the racing track of "La Croix en Ternois" which has been chosen to host the 13th edition of the Gerard Jumeaux Trophees. Over the previous 12 years, the association of "les Amis de Gerard Jumeaux" had used to meet up on the legendary Montlhery racing circuit. Started by a happy band of friends, the association decided to honor the Gerard memory, by organising racing bike and sidecar demonstrations, and it soon became an international manifestation reassembling pilots and bikes from all around Europe.
Moving on from Montlhery hasn't been a easy task. Many sites where considered: Le Castellet? Le Mans? Magny Cours? but it was the circuit of "La Croix en Ternois" which attracted our attention, much for is geographical location than for the exceptional welcome we were given.
In the heart of the Ternois, homogenous geographical country land, close to the Parisian area, in between south Picardy, the British chanel to the West and the higher land and hills of the Artois to the North-East. The track is ideally situated to give easy access for all pilots, joined every year by many British and Belgium riders.
.
Our association has always succesfully mixed seriousness, security measures and conviviality. The last event reunited over 500 racers, and nearly 20.000 enthusiastes, who came to discover or rediscover the rock'n roll ambiance that was at the heart of any circuits in the 70's, when racing was way of life. It's the magic of racing motorcycles from the 60's to the early 80's which is going to be brought back to life at "La Croix en Ternois", thanks to all participants, of which many prestigious pilots. Michel Bidault and Loic Faujour will be personalising their album in the padocks .
An important bike jumble is present every year with an wide range of spare parts for all kinds, as well as a fantastic rock concert.
